Use LED Television Reviews And Choose Your Set

When new technology is released, we often need help in making a choice. LED televisions are very new technology and the reviews on the sets help you to decide if this is the set for you. After reading the reviews, you may decide you cannot live without one of these new sets, or that your older set will serve just fine. Good LED television reviews help to make satisfied customers.
Older LCD televisions were a vast improvement in size over picture tube or projection sets. They take up much less room. They are almost flat so floor space is freed up. Pictures are good, but could never rival a plasma television.
The main problem with an LCD television is the source of back lighting. In the traditional LCD television, the back lighting was provided by fluorescent tubes. These tubes begin to dim after three to four years and the picture loses quality. Even when new, fluorescent lighting does not offer the full range of color that is needed for quality television pictures.
Enter the LED television. The only technological difference between an LED and an LCD television is the source of back lighting. The newer LED sets are back lit with LED lights. These are the same lights that have become popular in Christmas lights, flashlights and now for home use. LED lights have a very long life (home lamps are said to last for as long as twenty years) and produce a high quality white light. They do not have the color gaps that florescent lamps have. When added to a television, this literally means that the set can now show every color of the rainbow.
LED lamps also consume less energy. Ultimately this could mean lower power bills for the consumer. If we consume less power, the power companies will not have to expand their facilities and rates can be kept down.
The final difference is that with LED lighting, television sets can be made much thinner than the three inch deep sets made possible with LCD technology. Sets may soon be available that are only one-half of an inch thick. These sets will lend themselves even more to wall mounting and may need no television stand on which to sit.
LED televisions offer large screens without the bulk or problems of projection televisions. They are wonderful for watching television but even better for sports and movies.
Know how to read television reviews? Numerical ratings mean little without the actual reviews. See why people make the ratings that they make. Beware of people that give good ratings when they do not like a product. You can find extremely important information by reading the rating in full.
Others may give very low ratings but may have based their ratings on a poor experience with a retailer and not the actual product. Once again, it is important to know why the ratings were given. Different numerical ratings mean different things to different people.
Remember you need to actually view a product before purchase. The real opinion that will matter about a LED television review is your own. If you do not like the set, then read more reviews and check out more sets until you find the perfect one just for you.
